From Carrie White, Early Years Lead SEND Teacher

Well it is September and all children in Medway are due to be returning to school as we begin to make our way back to ‘normal’ following Covid.  Hopefully, you will all be seeing your numbers increasing and children returning to settings as parents are able to make their way back to work.  Unfortunately, we have lost a few settings due to the Covid situation, we hope their staff and children are ok and can find suitable places at other settings.

The Early Years SEN team are continuing to work, offering SENCO surgeries and support to families.  We are in the process of planning for our groups once we can return to those as well.

We are still taking our lead from each setting individually about whether we can visit or not.  Our process is that we will only offer a single visit a day, as you can appreciate, we have home visits and setting visits which we usually do so we will offer many of these visits virtually at the moment.

Looking forward to working with you all.

Carrie
