Changes to the School Admissions Code mean that from September 2011 all children must be admitted to school at the start of the Reception Year (Yr R / FS2) on a full-time basis with immediate effect from the beginning of term 1. It will no longer be permissible for schools to offer a start date later in the year, nor to provide only part-time places for some or all children during any part of the Reception year.

For Early Years Foundation Stage leads and teachers: A series of twilight workshops will be held this term to explore practical arrangements and classroom organisation that will best meet the needs of young children starting full time school next September.
