From January 2012, Speech and Language Advice Drop-in Clinics for children aged 2 to 4 years old that have not yet entered the reception year at school, will be held at Children’s Centres across Medway.

The clinics are an opportunity for parents and carers to speak with a Speech and Language Therapist about any concerns regarding their child’s speech and language progress. The advice clinics are for children that have not already been referred to Speech and Language services.

You do not need to book in advance – there are a limited amount of time-slots available for parents and carers at any given advice clinic. Appointments are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see the attched for details of dates times and centres.

MEDWAY COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE CIC hosts training in conjunction with partners in Medway NHS Foundation Trust

There are a number of sessions of training in areas including Catherterisation and an Awareness Day: Childhood Continence Issues including Supporting Toilet Training in nursery, school and social care settings amongst others.

The PDC staff would like Medway practitioners to know that the centre is open again after the Christmas break. The team are looking forward to welcoming practitioners to the centre. Developments include a PDC homepage that provides information about the centre's development room, library, scrap store and resources boxes. Anita's blog is now also available and provides an insight into the goings on at the PDC.
