REVISED EYFS 2012 Briefing Getting familiar and feeling confident with the new documentation
by Kim Turner - Thursday, 17 May 2012, 09:23 AM

REVISED EYFS 2012 Briefing Getting familiar and feeling confident with the new documentation

This briefing will provide a guide to the changes included in the revised EYFS 2012. It will also identify the aspects that remain the same. This briefing is for all practitioners working within the EYFS. We would recommend that all practitioners attend a session if possible . We have planned for sessions over a 4 week period so that we can accomodate as many EYFS practitioners as would like to attend. We have also structured the briefings to support schools/PVI's to plan for attendance over an extended period of time. We don't expect full teams to attend at the same session, unless this suits individual schools/settings.

Who is the briefing aimed at?
Practitioners working within the EYFS

PVI/School SENCo Transition Forums in Children's Centres
by Tina Newman - Thursday, 17 May 2012, 09:22 AM

The dates, times and venues of the transition forums have been set and can be found in the attached document.

Please remember  all  SENCos are required to attend a forum.  SENCos who have no children they need to discuss, will be able to leave after the briefing. The individual discussions between SENCos are being timetabled to maximise the time.

Unfortunately, due to the high number of briefings at the beginning of June there is some conflict with the timings of the PVI EYFS briefings and the SENCo transition forums.  Kirsteen Harris has agreed that the SENCo meetings to support transition into school have to take priority for SENCos, so if there is a clash of dates please re-schedule your EYFS briefing. The PDC team is aware of this and are expecting to hear from some SENCos, there shouldn't be a problem finding an alternative session.
If any SENCo is unable to attend a meeting for reasons other than conflicting times with an EYFS briefing,  please contact your Inclusion Advisor as a matter of urgency.

Please choose the sessions you wish to attend and send them in an email to Tina Newman at tina.newman@medway.gov.uk, along with your contact details. Please note we cannot take bookings over the telephone.

Alice Sharpe from Experiential Play will offer a lively and interactive presentation about babies' play and stimulation ; and

Dr Kathy Goouch from CCCU will reflect on the Baby Room Project 2009-2012.

A provisional programme for the day can be found at the bottom of this message.
